ANNECY: SAVOYARD PICNIC, CITY TOUR AND CRUISE FOR CILFA STUDENTS

Last summer, more than 20 students met in Annecy (Pâquier area) for a big Savoyard picnic. They ate local cheeses, cold meats, baguettes, vegetables and apricots. The students drank Savoy wines and fruit juices.

Then they split into two level groups to take a tour of the city. A group was guided by Jean-François for an advanced level visit related to local history and literature. At the same time, the other group left with Frédéric for a beginner-intermediate visit more oriented towards practical life, sports and special places in the city.

In Annecy, events take place all year round, impossible to get bored! So, to learn more about what to do here, on the lake and around, go check out the very beautiful website of the tourism office: https://en.lac-annecy.com/

Annecy Paysages Festival takes place every summer. In 2019, the city hosted 32 artistic and landscape installations in the emblematic places of the city.

The afternoon ended with a cruise. At that time, the two groups joined. Savoie cruise ship’s first mate welcomed the students and commented on the cruise speaking rather slowly.

CILFA offers many educational activities throughout the year. They are cultural, linguistic, sometimes sporting and usually take place outside of school. They vary according to the seasons: https://www.cilfa.fr/en/outside-activities/

A poem

Finally, a poem by Oscar David about Annecy (in French!):

Annecy ! Ville claire au bord des eaux limpides,

Tu mires tes balcons et tes voiles rapides

Dans ton lac modulant son éternel poème.

Le soir tu t’alanguis en de lascives poses

Et le parfum troublant de tes ardentes roses

Monte du lac aux cieux en offrande suprême.
